A Village Designed for Everyday Life

Imagine a quaint neighborhood where people with dementia and memory concerns can live life their way each and every day. From our cottage-style households to our beautiful surroundings, residents are encouraged to explore and enjoy the village in a safe and secure setting.

A Home Where Family Takes Care of Family

Maggie’s Place at Colonial Village is also unique in how we care for our residents. The inspiration for Maggie’s Place came from our own experiences in caring for our aging loved ones. We knew we wanted to create a caring community where family really does take care of family.

The Inspiration for Better Memory Support

In case you were wondering, Maggie’s Place is indeed named after a real person. For 40 years, Maggie Edith Pearl Jensen (1880-1974) cared for people through two hotels, a café, and by renting out sleeping rooms in her Iowa home. At 93-years-old, Maggie moved into an old house that was converted to a nursing home. Unfortunately, this facility was lacking so Maggie’s family was inspired to build newer, more modern accommodations for seniors throughout the Midwest. Maggie’s Place at Colonial Village will continue to honor that commitment.
